Japanese Pagoda

Location: Reading, PA

The Reading PA Pagoda was originally going to be a luxury resort in 1908. Unfortunately the owner was never able to get a liquor licence for the establishment and ending up selling it to the Town of Reading for $1. It has since sat as an icon of the town. The roof top lights were also used as morse code to announce urgent news in the early 1900’s. And to this day, the lights still flash every Christmas Eve at 9PM to signal to the towns children that Santa has arrive
