Location: Slampe, Latvia
A 1920-era Latvian ghost town….sorta. This is actually the set of the 2004 movie “Defender’s of Latvia”. This small town was built to exactly recreate what Latvia’s capital Riga looked like back in the 1920’s. When they were finished filming, they simply left it as is. Now-a-days you can take a stroll through the realistic movie set, visiting the church, train station, school yard and hotel. Speaking of hotel, you can even spend the night there during the summer.
