Fall Tour

The following are the potential dates for a fall tour for Exploring The Obscure. All places are going to depend on availability during certain times. There will also be places added. This is only to give you an idea of the potential of the unique and obscure places we are looking to visit.

 

Maine Desert – Freeport, Maine

Skinny House – Boston, Mass
2 brothers, dad willed the house to one son. The other got jealous and built a super small house infront of his brother’s house to block all sunlight and view. (Civil War era)

 

Old Newgate Prison -East Granby, Connecticut
Former prison in an old mine site.

 

Crypt at Center Church – New Haven, Connecticut
137 graves of New England residents from the 1600’s buried under a church

 

Bannerman’s Castle – Beacon, New York
Pink castle on an island that housed ammunition until it exploded itself

 

Huguenot St – New Paltz, New York
Oldest continually inhabited street in America

 

Balanced Rock – North Salem, New York
Enormous rock balanced on a much smaller one

 

Upside down traffic light – Syracuse, New York
Upside down traffic light forced by Irish immigrants to the point where city council left it as it

 

Craig-E-Claire Castle – Roscoe, New York

 

WV State Penn – Moundsville, West Virginia
Abandoned and haunted prison that will allow an overnight stay

 

Longaberger Basket Office – Newark, Ohio
A large office built like a wicker basket

 

Cornhenge – Dublin, Ohio
Random stalks of corn set up on a roadside attraction

 

Harry Andrew’s Chateau – Loveland, Ohio
A medieval castle that a man self built and lived in until he died in a freak accident

 

Mooresville Gravity Hill – Mooresville, Indiana
A mysterious hill where things tend to roll uphill

 

Rockome Gardens Amish Park – Arcola, Illinois
An amish theme park. Simple, plain and a new kind of fun.

 

Phone Booth on a Fire Station Roof – Lincoln, Illinois
A phone booth on top of a fire station where rookies had to go to, to watch for dangerous storms

 

Cement Land – East St Louis, Missouri
A cement factory turned into an amusement park?

 

Bonne Terre Mines – Bonne Terre, Missouri
Man made mine now the largest freshwater diving area in the world

 

Ha Ha Tonka Castle Ruins – Camdenton, Missouri
Beautiful castle ruins from the early 1900’s

 

Kansas State Library – Kansas City, Missouri

 

Coronado Heights Castle – Lindsborg, Kansas
Marking the spot where a conquistador gave up his search for the fabled Seven Cities of Gold

 

Mushroom Rock State Park – Brookeville, Kansas
Rock park looking like large mushrooms

 

Garden Of Eden – Lucas, Kansas
Self built house where the owner is still viewable in a glass coffin

 

Monument Rocks – Lewis, Kansas

 

Van Gogh Painting – Goodland, Kansas

Bishop Castle – Rye, Colorado

Depending on the response, we may extend this to  5 weeks and include New Mexico, Arizona, Texas,Arkansas, Tennessee and North Carolina.
