Location: New Haven, Connecticut
The Center Church on-the-green was founded in 1639 and located right in the middle of beautiful downtown New Haven, Connecticut. What it has in the basement though, dates back to the 1600’s. 137 gravestones sit beneath this beautiful church. The oldest dating back to 1687 and the “most recent” being the 1800’s. Along with the 137 known residents buried below, there are likely more than 1,000 more unidentified remains buried on the green. Although you cannot spend the night, tours are given April – October every Saturday.
