St Theodora’s Chapel is located outside of Arcadia, Greece. Built in the 11th or 12th century, this chapel has been able to withstand time. Not only time, but also withstand 17 trees that have grown out of its roof. Even weirder, there are no traces of roots on the inside.
The front, back, sides and roof of this tiny chapel have some trees growing up to 30 meters (almost 90ft) high. And still no roots. Scientist and geologists have studied and tried to understand the structure and where the roots go. Only to be left with more questions, with no answers. Besides some refurbishing time to time, the chapel remains stable without the help of stabilizers or anything else to help hold up its heavy roof.
