One of the coolest places we’ve visited. And not just for the natural shade this town provides.
Setenil de las Bodegas, Spain is a town that is net within a narrow gorge, with some of the houses and businesses built directly into the rocks and cliffs themselves. When we visited, we got to tour several of the businesses and houses. You can see from the pictures, that people have actually built around the formations in their home. Heat and air conditioning is non-existent in most of the houses because of the natural temperatures held by the cave like homes.
The town is small, with only about 3,000 inhabitants. It is well known for its meats, restaurants, bars, and of course, its views.
